Park Bench Haikus

Located by the river and the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge, the outside park area of the SEMO River Campus is a beautiful space that I visit often.  I love that the SEMO River Campus is all about the arts.  It inspires - the world needs artists.

A picturesque campus to photograph - a creative place to sit on a bench and write haikus.

The barge travels south,
its destination unknown.
The river won't tell.
The large trucks are loud
as they speed across the bridge.
I put headphones on.

The performers dance
to the beat of the river.
The bridge is their stage.
A bench in the park,

by a bridge going somewhere.
But yet I stay put.

The first line is five.
Seven syllables line two.
Five ends a haiku.
